Yes kids, the end of the year is in sight, so it's time for all those 'best of' lists. I had to do two this year. One for NU.nl and one for local music website 3VOOR12/Amsterdam. So here goes, maybe you kids can learn something ;)

Best Amsterdam album releases of 2008
1. Leine - Truth Be Told
2. Brown vs Brown - Twitch and Shout
3. The Moi Non Plus - The Moi Non Plus
3. Palloc - A Tree in Our City

Best concerts seen in Amsterdam
1. Einstuerzende neubauten - Melkweg - 20 mei
5. Lefties soul connection - Paradiso - 18 juli

Top 10 best albums of 2008 (all releases)
1. Leine - Truth Be Told
2. Motorpsycho - Little Lucid Moments
3. Russian Circles - Station
4. Mogwai - The Hawk is Howling
5. Brown vs Brown - Twitch and Shout
6. Original Silence - The Second Original Silence
7. God Is An Astronaut - God Is An Astronaut
8. Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing
9. The Moi Non Plus - The Moi Non Plus
10. Palloc - A Tree in Our City

Overall I thought it was a pretty poor year in music.
Music tastes link to personality

I call bollocks on this research that apparently shows music is related to personality. I like jazz, rock/heavy metal, dance and 'indie' (whatever the fuck that is), so I'm both gentle and not gentle, not outgoing and outgoing, whilst I have both low and high self-esteem. Are they saying I suffer from Dissociative Identity Disorder?
I wonder how they defined their variables. Someone please humour me and attempt a definition of 'indie'.

I can't believe I hadn't heard of the Daytrotter Sessions before. Turns out they have a fairly big archive, featuring live sessions by Minus the Bear, A Place To Bury Strangers, Yeasayer and a shit ton of other (semi-)independent/underground artists. Only a couple more before I turn into this guy.

All for this. I wonder if I can add 'editing' to my CV now that I've done about 50 of those clips.
